Archive for instant coffee

i was often told if i were to drink coffee (which i do 3-4 cups a day) that instead of taking instant coffee, take brewed instead because instant coffee has added harmful chemicals in it… is this a fact? any infos would be great. thanks.

Instant coffee is just freeze-dried brewed coffee. It’s bad because of taste but not for any chemicals.

What is the difference between instant coffee and regular coffee? How is regular coffee made, and does it taste better than instant coffee or not? Also, how do coffee shops make their coffee, is it instant or regular? Thanks!

That’s a lot to ask in just one question! This is just a brief rundown of the differences.

1. Regular coffee is ground-up roasted coffee beans, which are the seeds of the coffee tree. instant coffee is made by, to cut a long process short, brewing coffee from regular coffee and then dehydrating it, leaving a powder that can be rehydrated to make "coffee".

2. Regular coffee tastes much better than instant coffee. Instant coffee is foul stuff; specialty (high-quality regular) coffee tastes good black.

3. Coffee shops make their coffee using regular coffee, of course! However, many coffee shops don’t use the drip method you would use at home. Instead they make espresso, which is a special type of coffee made by using an espresso machine to push a small amount of water through tightly packed coffee with great force, making a "shot" that’s only two ounces of coffee but has the coffee flavor of a whole cup. You can make espresso at home, but to make really good espresso requires an expensive machine and much practice.

Baking a cake with instant coffee?

Posted by: admin | Comments (3)

I want to bake a coffee flavored cake and I have the following ingredients: flour, butter, sugar, instant coffee, vanilla extract, orange extract, powdered sugar, veg oil, olive oil, eggs, salt, cream cheese frosting.

However, I do not have baking powder or baking soda.

What can I make with some of the ingredients listed above?
Thanks!
Yes it’s self raising flour

Make the cake as normal except, put only the yolks in the cake and not the whites and if your recipe calls for oil, use applesauce instead.. Take the mix all the way to point where it would go into the pans, then set the bowl aside.

In another large bowl, using 5 egg whites, beat them until they form very stiff peaks.

Then add the egg whites to the cake mixture and CAREFULLY and GENTLY fold them together until mixed but as little as possible. Place in the oven and bake as usual. This may need to be cooked a little longer but not less time so don’t open the oven until at least the recommended time is up.

Check with a toothpick.

Instant coffee?

Posted by: admin | Comments (6)

Its been around since WW2 and its still awful. Has anybody found one that tastes remotly liked brewed coffee.

Luzianne makes an instant chicory coffee that is pretty decent-but the only place I’ve gotten it was in Louisiana-it’s not even on their website.

I bought Hills Brothers brand cappuccino instant coffee mix and was wondering how much caffeine is in it? It doesn’t say. It says it has instant coffee in it…so how much caffeine is that? Is it the same amount as a regular cup? Baisicly I am just wondering if it is worth drinking in the A.M. I don’t want to drink it and get to work and be sleepy. So if you drink anything like it and get your caffeine buzz that would be an okay answer too. Thanks!

average mug of instant coffee is about 100mg of caffine
