Can I substitute regular coffee for instant coffee/espresso?
ByA recipe calls for 2 teaspoons of instant coffee but I only have regular coffee and don’t want to buy a whole can of instant for only 2 teaspoons. Can I use the regular coffee as a substitute?
You can but….instant coffee will dissolve, and the regular coffee grounds won’t. If you don’t want the grounds in your recipe, you could strain them through a fine mesh sieve. Or you could make some coffee and reduce it by boiling it for a while.

You can used brewed coffee but not the grounds. If your recipe calls for 1 up of water and 2 teaspoons of instant espresso, replace that with 1 cup strongly brewed coffee. If you don’t have enough liquid called for in the recipe then omit it or go out and get the instant.
I have made a chocolate tort (flourless chocolate cake) that called for instant espresso and successfully made it without the espresso. Really depends on the recipe to determine if you can leave it out.

Yes, but you have to brew it. Brew it very, very strong, and reduce the other liquid called for, preferrably water, by 2 teaspoons.

yes - if it also asks to add water or milk. If its asking for instant coffee as a dry ingredient - it will probably make ur batter/micture a lil more runny
is using regulat coffee make it extra strong and trade off another liquid

You could use regulat coffee but you’d be better if making a pot of extra strong coffee. Substitute the extra strong coffee for the water in your recipe.
Instant coffee comes from first brewing coffee and then dehydrating it. Using coffee grounds straight up will give you a different flavor in the end and will require more than 2 teaspoons.
If I rembemer right 2 tspn instant = 1/3 cup to 1/2 cup of grounds.

If you have a grinder just grind it into a really fine powder! Thats all instant is really…they add some stuff that keeps it from sticking together. Brewed coffee won’t give you enough flavor unless it is espresso…and even then you need to lower your liquids by the quantity as the water in your coffee…
